    How to play

    • Tap a cell to put that player on the pitch for that quarter.
    • Seven on the pitch each quarter: one keeper plus six outfielders.
    • Striped cells are blocked - that player is not available.
    • Cells with a ring are pinned and cannot be turned off.

    The maths

Four quarters times seven shirts is 28 slots. Two keepers take two quarters each, which leaves 24 for eight outfielders: three quarters each, one rest each, two resting per quarter. Everything else is puzzle.

    Do it for real

The free coach app does this rotation for your actual squad, tracks playing time over the season and prints the line-up sheet.
